Father in court for incest

Half-Assini magistrate court in Western Region on Friday remanded a clearing agent at the Elubo border two weeks into prison Custody for defiling and torturing his 17-year-old girl.

The court presided over by Mr Abdul Majid Illiasu ordered Mr Anthony Tamakloe, 39, whose plea was not taken, to reappear on January 29.

He was charged on three counts of defilement, incest and torturing.

Prosecution, Police Sergeant Isaac Ebo Otoo, told the court that complainant in the case is a head Pastor of Assemblies of God Church at Elubo.

He said the accused has four children including the victim with a woman whom he divorced at Aflao in January 2013.

The Prosecutor said when the accused took custody of his children he enquired from the victim if she had ever had sexual intercourse with a man.

He said the victim said she was a virgin.

The prosecution said the accused made the girl to strip naked and lied on his bed while he inserted his finger in her vagina to ascertain if indeed she was a virgin.

Sergeant Otoo said in the process the accused was not able to withstand her daughter's nudity and inserted his penis in her vagina and subsequently had sexual intercourse with her till he satisfied himself.

He said this made the girl bled profusely from her private part, but warned her not to tell anyone what had transpired between them and afterwards made her his sexual partner.

The Prosecutor said the victim’s mother visited and she told her, her ordeal.

He said when the mother confronted the father over the issue, she vehemently denied the act.

The prosecution said the revelation did not deter the accused who continued to have sex with victim after the mother's departure.

He said the accused even threatened to kill her if she dare reveal the secret to anyone as she did to the mother.

According to the Sergeant Otoo the accused subjected the victim to torture anytime she resisted his demand to have sex with her.

The prosecution said sometimes the accused person used sedative hypnotic drugs on the victim and her siblings at night to sleep deeply to enable him execute his nefarious act without any interference.

He indicated that on Sunday January 3, 2016 the accused as usual had sex with the victim who experienced abnormal pains so was unable to attend church.

The following Sunday when she attended church, she narrated her ordeal to a policeman who is a member of the church.

The Prosecutor said the policeman informed the Head Pastor of the Church who met the victim over the issue and later reported the matter and the case was referred to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit of Ghana Police Service, Half-Assini.
