Five men are in police custody for attacking students

Adenta, June 11, GNA - Five young men have been placed in Police custody for allegedly attacking students of the West Africa Secondary School, at Adenta in the Tema Municipality.

Some students of the school told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the gang from Kotobabi, a suburb of Accra, who had visited the campus to participate in an entertainment programme, were enraged when the event was cancelled. They claimed that the furious young men therefore engaged some of the students in a fight. The culprits are, Sebastian Adama, Mumini Musah, Mustafa Moro, Nasiru Abramani, Lord Amoah and Fuseini Baba.

According to Adama, one Moses Vadze, a student slapped one of his colleagues leading to a scuffle. He said Moses later lifted a flower vase from the a top floor on campus to hit a member of his gang, but missed his target and rather landed on the head of Paul Painstil a student who became unconscious and had to be revived at a hospital.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr Kwabena Antwi-Boasiako Madina Divisional Police Commander confirmed the story to the GNA. He said the case was under investigations.
