Former Accountant of Peki Government Hospital under probe

Peki (V/R), March 14, GNA - The Police Criminal Investigation Department has initiated investigations into allegations financial malpractices against a former accountant of the Peki Government Hospital.

A Police source at the Peki Divisional Headquarters told the Ghana News Agency that the suspect, Mr Elias Akuamoah, allegedly tampered with official documents and deliberately mutilated financial documents of the hospital before handing over to a new Accountant.

Mr Akuamoah is also alleged to have masterminded anonymous letters about the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital. Meanwhile the Regional Health Directorate of the Ghana Health Service, have re-shuffled accounting staff in the region. A release signed by Dr Andrew Arde Acquah, Regional Director of Health Service, urged all heads of institutions to ensure that the affected officers handover properly.
