A Ghana Airways flight attendant is in police custody following his arrest at London?s Heathrow airport carrying narcotic drugs. Information available to JOY News suggests that the flight attendant, Michael Grantson was arrested on Sunday with an unspecified amount of narcotics.
However, other unconfirmed reports suggest another flight attendant was implicated in the drug bust. Officials at Ghana Airways who confirmed the incident could not provide further details except to say that they were waiting for an official report from the airline?s manager at Heathrow. This latest incident will further dent the image of the national carrier, which is already struggling to overcome a series of financial and administrative problems that have threatened to ground the airline.
This latest incident does no good for the airline?s image. Unconfirmed reports have suggested often that some of the airline?s flight staff have been involved in illicit deals including the trafficking of narcotics and transporting of luggage-for personal gain.
