The Executive Director of Peace Watch Ghana, Madam Nyonkpa Daniels, has advised the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to take the allegations of murder leveled against him by Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah seriously.
The peace and security advocate says the man of God has repeated the allegations several times against the IGP, and it is time he treated them seriously.
Vouching for the IGP, she said Dr. Dampare does not have the capacity to even think or execute such an agenda.
In order to clear his name and guard against any attempt to denigrate him and attack his integrity, these allegations must be addressed.
Appearing on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Madam Daniels noted that there have been several attempts to denigrate the IGP and false claims thrown at him to paint him in a negative light in the eyes of the Ghanaian public.
Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, in a recent comment, alleged that the IGP had wanted to have him killed. Speaking to his congregation on Sunday, September 22, 2024, Rev. Owusu Bempah claimed that masked police officers attempted to inject him with a lethal substance while he was in custody, an action he says he fought off.
According to Rev. Owusu Bempah, eight masked officers arrived to retrieve him from his cell.
He recounted how he was placed in a pickup truck, handcuffed between officers when one of them attempted to inject him, but he fought the person until the injectable was damaged.
Commenting on it, Madam Daniels said, "We have to investigate this matter and have all those behind it brought to book.
This is not the first time the man of God has made this allegation. We have to fish these individuals out so those who engaged in that would not repeat it and do it against others. Peace Watch Ghana will follow this case and ensure that we get to the bottom of this. It is a serious allegation, and we must deal with it."
