Man kills wife over lunch

The Akyem Oda Police Divisional Command has arrested a forty-three-year old farmer at Bomoden village near Akyem Aprade in the Birim South district of the Eastern region, Nana Kwame Badu for killing his wife, Abena Duwaa, a.k.a Abena Panin for failing to prepare lunch for him.

The incident occurred on Tuesday July 14, 2015 at Bomoden village at about 8:30 pm. The police account which was corroborated by two children of the couple stated that on that fateful day, Badu went to farm in the morning and instructed the wife to prepare food and bring it to the farm in the afternoon.

The report said, after waiting for long hours without the wife showing up, angry and hungry Badu returned home, but kept silent till the evening when he confronted the wife why she failed to bring the food to the farm.

The confrontation generated confusion between the couple.

The suspect picked a cutlass he used in the farm, locked their two children in the room and inflicted a deep cutlass wound at the back of the head killing her instantly.

The shout of the children attracted residents who rushed to the house and manage to apprehend Badu and sent him to the police station.

He will soon be put before court after investigations.
