North Kaneshie Point Four residents complain of robbery attacks

The North Kaneshie Point Four residents have been living in constant fear of robbery attacks for the past four months.

A group of armed robbers suspected to be hiding at Darkuman Fadama are believed to be responsible for a number of robberies at the Demod Amankwa, Adodo Hotel and Assemblies of God areas.

Mr Theophilus Tei Okunor, Assemblyman for Mukose Electoral Area in the Okaikwei South District, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview on Tuesday that the latest robbery attack was on Monday April 8, 2013 at Point Four near ABC College where a jewel shop was robbed.

“Hardly a day passes without hearing of robbery attacks in the area,” he complained.

Chief Superintendent Fleance Senam Adikah, District Commander of the Kaneshie Police Station, confirmed the attacks to GNA and gave the assurance that effective security measures had been put in place to curb the crime for people to go about their normal duties peacefully.

“We have placed three patrol cars with armed Policemen, industrial patrol team, Police visibility tents with cars at Meridian Chemist and Adodo Hotel areas for 24-hour to response to any emergencies,” he explained.

He appealed to the Assemblyman to expedite action on the formation of the Watchdog Committees to enable the Police partner with the community to share ideas and track down on those criminals from their hideout.

The Chief Superintendent Adikah gave the assurance that the Police would continue with their swoops in the area.
