The suspected hoodlums, according to the police, had been terrorizing the people of Nsonyameye, Anwiankwanta, Tanoso and the nearby areas, but they always escaped arrest.

The Abuakwa District police finally apprehended them after they had allegedly robbed one Emmanuel Adu of his HTC mobile phone, valued at GH¢550.00 and an amount of GHc480.

Addressing the media, DCOP Kofi Boakye, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, said the five accused persons attacked the victim around 10:30 pm on July 10, 2015.

He said Adu was making a call on his cellular phone when the gangsters attacked him with a locally manufactured pistol, snatched the device and robbed him of GHc480.

The hoodlums managed to flee with their booty and went into hiding for some days but Adu identified them at Nsonyameye on July 22, this year, and quickly alerted the police.

DCOP Kofi Boakye said the police on July 27, 2015, arrested the hoodlums at their hideout at Nsonyameye and arraigned them before the Nkawie circuit court, which ordered their remand.
