Accra, Aug. 22, GNA - Mohammed Collins aka Collitey, a 23-year-old unemployed, who allegedly robbed and shot the manager of Lewis Gas Company at Madina Estate in September last year, appeared before an Accra Circuit Court on Monday. He pleaded not guilty to robbery and was remanded into prison custody to re-appear on September 6.
Police Chief Inspector Johnson K. Anim, prosecuting said on the night of September 9th last year, the deceased Mr Lewis Kofi Kuma Beddu, returned home at Madina Estate and wife welcomed him and collected his briefcase containing money collected from various sales points for the day.

Chief Inspector Anim said the deceased was rushed to Legon hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. He said Police investigations led to the arrest of 11 suspected armed robbers and during an identification parade on August 19, this year, at the forecourt of the Greater Accra Regional Police Headquarters, the wife of the deceased identified the accused and after investigations he was charged with the offence.
