The Headmaster of the school Mr Isaac Fosu-Baffoe told the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza that Baffoe who was a Section Prefect and among the students who wrote this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination, did not take kindly to a decision by the school authorities to punish him for failing to supervise his subordinates assigned to work on a plot of land.

He said when a teacher at the school, Mr Collins Kwarteng took a cane to lash Isaac; he snatched it and used it to assault him and another teacher who attempted to retrieve the cane. The Headmaster said Isaac later organised a gang including two of his classmates identified as Osei and Antwi to Mr Kwarteng's residence and pelted the house with stones.
