Residents of Odumase Krobo in the Eastern Region have arrested suspected armed robbers after they returned to the scene to take away a motorbike used in a foiled robbery.
The suspects, Griffiths Bless and Richard Teye both 21 years have been handed over to the Odumase Police. A locally manufactured pistol with 3 live cartridges retrieved from the suspects.
Information gathered indicates that on April 5, 2018, at about 4:30am the two suspects onboard unregistered green POWER-UP JOCKEY H 125 motorbike attempted to rob the complainant, Lawrence Adjaidoo while he was asleep in his room.
The complainant who was awoken by the strange noise as the two suspects attempted to break into his room, stood up and gazed at the suspects and started raising alarm. The suspects sensing danger took to their heels and abandoned the motorbike parked in front of the house.
Later at about 6am, the suspects and one other now at large came back in an attempt to pick the motorbike away but were spotted and alarm raised leading to the arrest of the two whilst one of them managed to escape.
A search conducted on the motorbike revealed a black student bag concealed beneath the seat containing a knife, two pairs of scissors, a cutter, four flashlights and six boxes of matches.
Confirming the incident to Kasapa News, the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh explained further that, the Police rearrested the suspects and immediately escorted them to Ogome a suburb of Somanya where a search was conducted in their various rooms but nothing incriminating was found.
He said they were brought back to the Police Station and detained to assist with investigation.
