Robbers ransack Cape Coast DVLA offices

Robbers broke into the Central Regional office of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) in Cape Coast at dawn on Thursday and made away with a cash of GH?3,000.00 and a power bank.

The robbers, seven in number ransacked the offices of the accountant but were unable to steal anything from the regional manager’s office.

The, unidentified robbers over powered the security guard at post, tied him with a rope to a tree nearby and hit him in the head.

Briefing the media, the Regional manager, Mr Emmanuel Klugah said the incident happened from 0100 hours and 0200 hours.

He said the robbers attempted to temper with the ‘safe’ in his office but they could not.

According to him, a formal complaint has been lodged at the Regional Police Headquarters but no arrest has been made.

The security guard was rescued by his fellow security guard at Vodafone office, which was nearby and alerted the Ghana Police to the scene.

He is receiving treatment at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
