A sales officer of E-NAT Mineral Water, Solomon Amoako, has been sentenced to six months' imprisonment with hard labor by the Tarkwa District Magistrate’s Court Two for stealing his employer’s GH¢2,450.00. The convict, popularly known as Sky, pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing.

Prosecuting, Police Sergeant Patrick Essien, informed the court—presided over by Charles Owusu Nsiah—that the complainant, Belinda Ghartey, is a miner and the owner of E-NAT Mineral Water, residing at Akyempim with Amoako, her employee.

On Saturday, March 23, 2024, Amoako, along with two other employees, Kwabena Asare and Kofi Amoah, who are both witnesses in the case, loaded 350 bags of sachet water, valued at GH¢2,450, into a Kia truck for sale in Esuaso, a suburb of the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality.

Sergeant Essien stated that on Sunday, March 24, at about 1:00 p.m., Amoako and his colleagues sold all 350 bags of sachet water, but Amoako retained the money.

The convict, who had initially planned to abscond with the funds, instructed Asare and Amoah to wait for him in the truck, claiming he was going to purchase something. However, after waiting several hours, Amoako did not return.

Eventually, they returned home to park the truck after failing to locate Amoako.

Concerned that the complainant would hold them responsible, Asare and Amoah traveled to Amoako’s hometown of Twifo Praso in search of him.

The court was informed that on March 27, the witnesses, with assistance from a community police officer, apprehended Amoako at Twifo Himan and turned him over to the police.
