The circuit court in Tarkwa has fined a 19- year-old small scale miner, Enock Mensah, 360 Ghana cedis or in default three months imprisonment for stealing one crusher machine valued GHC650 at Aboso.
He pleaded guilty.
Prosecuting Chief Inspector Edward Paddy told the court presided over by Mr. Samuel Obeng Diawuo that about two weeks ago the complainant, Moses Amoah, a small scale miner noticed that his crusher machine worth GHC650 had been stolen.
He bought a new machine but when he went to his site on February 3 he could not find the new machine. He conducted investigations and found his old crusher machine at a scrap shop in Aboso.
He said investigations revealed that it was the convict who sent the machine to the shop but the scrap dealer refused to buy it.
Mensah was arrested and handed over to the police.
