Tema Police attend seminar to learn modern skills

Tema, Feb. 8, GNA - Police officers have been called upon to sharpen their skills and develop new techniques to combat crime, which has become sophisticated in recent times.

Reverend Gideon Titi-Ofei, Executive Director of African Centre for Leadership and Human Resource Development (ACLHRD), noted that crime has assumed an alarming situation, which required modern techniques to combat it.

He was addressing 50 police officers drawn from the Tema Regional Police Administration at a day's seminar on leadership training programme in Tema.

The seminar, organised by the ACLHRD as part of its social responsibility, aimed at equipping the participants who were seen as community leaders, with modern concepts of leadership, communication and conflict management.

He asked the personnel to discard the notion that their hard work is not noticed, saying that any hard worker is definitely noticed for reward irrespective of the station and rank.

In order to promote quality work, Rev Titi-Ofei entreated heads of the service to make sure they operate under teamwork for effective coordination.

To avoid mistrust in the service, he implored the heads to always select "God fearing and trust worthy" personnel of high moral standards, who can keep secrets so that vital decision do not leak to the public domain.
