The Tema Police Command has recovered some items believed to belong to armed robbers from a bush at ‘Peace Be’, a suburb of New Dawhenya in the Ningo-Prampram District.
The items, which were in a sack, included two pump action guns, one locally manufactured short gun, two cutters, and a mall hammer
Other items recovered were: a screw driver, 31 BB cartridges, three black masks and three black shirts.
Information from Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Juliana Obeng, Tema Regional Police Public Affairs Officer, said the Police received information about the items hidden in the bush.
ASP Obeng said the items were found hidden under a Nim tree concealed in the sack by a resident who attended nature’s call in the bush, at about 05:30 hours.
The residents informed the police about his discovery after which Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Paul Bampo, Prampram District Police Commander, led his men to search for the potential owners through intensive patrols, but no arrest have been made so far.
ASP Obeng said the items have been retained as exhibits while residents in the area have been cautioned and issued with police emergency numbers to immediately report any suspicious characters to the Police whiles investigation continues.
