Three site labourers working with China Geo-Engineering Cooperation Limited and sub-contracted by Euroget De-Invest SA for the construction of a 60-bed district hospital at Twifo Praso have been jailed 24 months for stealing 43 pieces of copper pipes.
The suspects, Jeff Otoo, 22, Emmanuel Amoah, also 22 and Daniel Quansah, 23, pleaded guilty to the charges of stealing and causing structural damage to a building.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Irene Oppong, Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer who briefed the media said during a normal patrol duties by the police around the hospital they came across suspects Jeff Otoo and Emmanuel Amoah at the Obstetrics and Gynecological building of the hospital which is under construction idling around.
They were questioned by the Police as to what they were doing there but could not give any tangible reasons.
Later the Police came back to same scene and again saw the two suspects who have caused severe damage to the copper pipes which were affixed on the wall and cut same into pieces and heaped them into bags.
They were arrested for stealing and causing damage and in cause of that mentioned the third suspect, Daniel Quansah as their accomplice.
