The Duayaw Nkwanta Circuit Court in the Brong Ahafo Region, Thursday, remanded a total of three persons into prison custody for their involvement in criminal acts at Sankore and Kenyasi in the Brong Ahafo Region.
This was contained in a statement, issued by the Public Affairs Department of the Ghana Police Service, and signed by the Director-General, Assistant Commissioner of Police David Eklu, and copied to the Ghana News Agency.
The statement explained that Osman Mohammed, 46, was arraigned for assault, which occurred during the Limited Voter’s Registration.
It said Osman Mohammed went into hiding after the offence but was arrested by the Brong Ahafo Regional Police. He is to reappear before the Court on October 11.
In the other case, two other persons; Baffour Asare Amos alias “Anointing” and Isaac Akoboa alias “Akodaanyame” were remanded for causing damage to property during the International Peace Keeping Day celebration, organised by the Regional Peace Council on Friday, September 21, at Sankore in the Brong Ahafo Region.
The statement said the two also went into hiding after committing the offence but were arrested on Tuesday, September 25. They are also to reappear on October, 11.
“The Police Administration assures the public that the law would be enforced without any fear or favour, and is calling on all citizens of Sankore and surrounding areas to continue supporting the Police in maintaining law and order,” the statement said.
