Hohoe (V/R), June 2, GNA - For allegedly beating a teacher and two others without any provocation, Rosemary Gbetor, a trader of Fodome-Ahor in the Hohoe District has appeared before a Hohoe Magistrate's Court, charged for assault.
Rosemary, who pleaded not guilty to three cases of assault, has been granted bail in the sum of two million cedis and two sureties each to be justified. She will re-appear in court on June 9, this year. The complainants were, Madam Bridget Deh, teacher, Madam Bequin Adjei, farmer and Master Eugene Osei, a student, all residents of Fodome.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Emmanuel Kpodo told the Court, presided over by Miss Janet Awo Bakudie, that on March 12, this year, Rosemary attacked the teacher without any provocation while she was having a discussion with her (Rosemary's) mother. Inspector Kpodo said Adjei and Osei who went to the rescue of the teacher ended up incurring the wrath of Rosemary, who bit off Adjei's left thumb.
He said the three lodged separate complaints with the Police, leading to the prosecution of Rosemary.
