Tema, Aug. 15, GNA- The Tema circuit court 'A' on Friday granted a total of 300 million cedis bail with one surety each to two car dealers, charged with stealing a Benz bus valued at 150 million cedis from the Tema harbour.
Nana Boama and Osei Bonsu pleaded not guilty and they will reappear on August 30.
Police Inspector Adolphus Otchere told the court that during the month of February 2003, the complainant's brother Mr Kwame Senu shipped a benz bus for him to clear at the Tema port.
However, due to delays, the vehicle was affected by rent, and was sent for auction.
Inspector Otchere said following a petition sent by the importer, Mr Ramond Badu Affrim on June 17, 2003, to the Commissioner of CEPS, he was granted an extension of time for the clearance of the car.
He said the complainant in the process of clearing the bus realised that somebody had cleared it when the complainant conducted his own investigations; he found that that Nana Boama and Osei Bonsu were those who cleared it.
A report was made to police and the accused persons were arrested.
