Kwesi Bedzra, mason, and Sam Tsrogo, painter, have been arraigned at an Accra Circuit Court for conspiring and robbing LG and Samsung mobile phones worth Ghc2,200.00, the property of one Kwame Okyere Yiadom.
The two pleaded not guilty to the offence, but were remanded by the court presided over by Mr. Francis Obiri, to re-appear on March 5.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector K. Adu told the court that, at about 0400 hours on February 2 this year, Yiadom, Kwesi and Sam pounced on the complainant who is a tenant in the house of one Mohammed Issah, a witness in the case.
He said the accused persons entered the room of the complainant through his kitchen door while he was relaxing on his bed.
The prosecution said Yiadom quickly jumped out of bed- frightened, and shouted for help.
He said the witness who was preparing to go to work, heard the shout and quickly rushed to complainant’s room and met Kwesi who he knows very well, at the entrance scaling the wall.
Inspector Adu said the witness on seeing Kwesi, called his name several times but he managed to escape while Sam was in the room of the complaining he was beaten and abandoned.
He said the case was reported to the Police, and in the course of investigations, it was revealed that the accused persons went to rob complainant of his LG and Samsung phones valued at GHc2,200.00, and Sam was assaulted in the process.
The prosecution said Sam knowing that the Police had a hint of their escapade, vanished into thin air, but they were both later arrested.
