The police in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region, are said to be holding two young boys who were in possession of a human skull.

Sources within the police service disclosed that the suspects are Akwesi Adu, 18 and Emmanuel Atta aka ‘Asuoden’, believed to be 19 years old.

They were allegedly picked up in a famous Mallam’s house at Barekese, when they tried to sell the human skull to him, perhaps for ritual purposes.

The two boys, in their caution statement to the police, denied owning the human skull, claiming that the bizarre item belonged to some people instead.

The police are said to have picked up key leads from the two young boys and so they (police) are working extremely hard to arrest the remaining suspects.

According to the police source, the matter is a serious one, especially, as the boys were arrested whilst trying to sell a human part to the Mallam.

He said the Mallam was in his house at Berekese in the Atwima Nwabiagya District on Sunday when the suspects arrived with a bag.

The boys then informed the Mallam that they had a human skull in the bag and they wanted to ask the Mallam if he is interested in buying it.

The Mallam acted smart by feigning interest to buy the human skull so he (Mallam) told the naïve boys to wait a while so he pays them.

The soothsayer then secretly called the police, who rushed to the place fully armed and apprehended the young boys to face the law.
