The Hohoe Circuit Court has granted two former employees of Tropigha Farms Limited in Gbefi in the Volta Region a total bail of GHC50,000 with two sureties.
Patience Asknet a 28-year-old Assistant Administrator and Divine Koranteng, a 24-year-old Farm Supervisor, all employees of a German firm for allegedly stealing GHC46,722.32 between January 2015 and December 2018.
Patience and Divine pleaded not guilty to the charges and will reappear on May 21.
Prosecuting, Inspector George Doe told the court presided over by Mr. Yaw Poku Achampong, that Patience connived with Divine Koranteng to add non-existing names to the list of staff of the company.
Inspector Doe said Patience within the period was always sending the list including the non-existing ones to Germany for payment.
He said Patience would then signed and collect the monies meant for the non-existing workers.
Inspector George Doe said when Patience was arrested, she mentioned Divine as an accomplice which led to his arrest but he denied it.
