A Ho Circuit Court presided over by Madam Priscilla Dikro has sentenced Wonder Azah, 21, a barber and Alex Avorwutor,22, a kente weaver to 15 years imprisonment each for attempting to steal a motorbike.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Stephen Atidzon said on May, 23 this year at around 2300 hours, the complainant who resides at Avermegorlakui near Ziope was heading home from work when the accused asked him to transport them to New Takui and then to Akpokope.

He said upon reaching a section of the road between Kakadedzi village and Vitsokpe junction, Avorwutor pulled a knife and threatened to stab the complainant.

The prosecution said the complainant was forced to stop the motorbike and the accused thensped off with it towards Ziope.

He said the complainant run to the Kakadedzi village for help, leading to a chase of the suspects who abandoned the bike and took their heels, the motorbike was retrieved on a bush road near Agordeke and Kakadedzi village.

The Prosecution said the complainant reported the matter to the police and on May 24, this year, the accused were arrested at their hideout at old Takui and the knife retrieved from Avorwutor.

He said they admitted the offence in their cautioned statement.
