Two person have committed suicide by hanging in two separate incidents in the Ashanti Region within 24-hours, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed.
The first incident involved a 70-year-old farmer from Adansi Nsese in the Edubiase District who was reportedly missing according to relatives.
It is gathered that a search party started looking for Charles Mustapha, and after several hours, his lifeless body was found hanging on a cocoa tree with a yellow nylon rope around his neck fastened to the tree in a cocoa farm. An official complaint was lodged with the police, who visited the scene and conveyed the body to New Edubiase Government Hospital mortuary for preservation.
In a related development, a 27-year-old lady who visited her fiancé at Bediem near Akrofuom also committed suicide for reasons yet to be uncovered.
The deceased, only identified as Hawa, according to the distraught boyfriend, was at work when he was called and informed that his fiancée Hawa, who had gone to fetch water at the time he was leaving for work, had committed suicide by hanging in their room at the said village.
An official complaint was lodged with the police, who visited the scene and found the deceased hanging from the ceiling with a rope around her neck.
Police investigators unfastened the body and took it to OD Mortuary Services at Obuasi for preservation pending autopsy to establish the actual cause of death.
