Two suspected murderers grabbed

Gomoa Obuasi (C/R), March 19, GNA - An Agona Swedru Circuit Court has remanded two persons suspected for the murder of a woman in prison custody.

Mr B. B. Bakomora, Swedru District Police Commander, who confirmed the murder to the GNA, said the two would re-appear on 30th March this year.

He said the suspects were arrested by the Gomoa Obuasi Police for the alleged murder of 80-year-old, Madam Abena Obentsiwaah, from Gomoa Gyaman in the Central Region, believed to be the girl friend of one of them.

The two are Kwame Entsie 70 and Kojo Obuasi, 40 both farmers from Gyaman.

A Police source at Gomoa Obuasi told GNA on Monday, that Kojo Obuasi had been the girlfriend of the deceased. An eyewitness told the Police that on March 10th 2006, Entsie found the woman dead in a pool of blood in her room. It said Entsie was arrested because a stain of blood was found in his shirt.

The source said Obuasi was also seen brandishing a cutlass telling people that he was going to slaughter a dog before the incident. The Police source, however, said the two suspects were blaming each other for the killing of the woman who they say died instantly.
