Sunyani, March 23, GNA - A district magistrate court 'B' in Sunyani has remanded two teenagers at the Kumasi Remand Home for conspiracy to commit crime and causing unlawful harm. Mariama Dauda Snr, a 17-year-old pupil of Garrison JSS in Sunyani and Mariama Dauda Jnr, a 16-year-old hairdresser apprentice pleaded not guilty to the charges and would re-appear on March 31 this year.
Prosecuting Chief Inspector Alex Ofosu told the court, presided over by Justice Albert Zoogah that, the complainant, Ms. Hamdiatu Issaka, a 16-year-old pupil of St. George Preparatory School and lived in the same vicinity with the accused at New Dormaa in Sunyani. He said Dauda Snr. and the complainant shared a boyfriend and at about 20:00 hours on January 22 this year, the accused conspired and attacked the complainant and inflicted multiple blade wounds on her. Chief Inspector Ofosu said after the incident the accused went into hiding at Adomako, near Sunyani.
The complainant reported the matter to the police and was issued with a medical report to attend hospital. The prosecutor said the police later apprehended the accused at their hideout and during interrogation the senior Dauda admitted committing the offence.
