Tema, Jan 22, GNA - Twum Barimah, unemployed, who was arrested by the Tema Police possession of 50 wrappers of dried leaves and locally manufactured gun has been remanded by the Tema Circuit Court 'A'. He pleaded guilty to possessing narcotic drugs without authority and not guilty to possessing firearms without authority and will re-appear on February 28, 2006.
Inspector Adolphus Okyere told the court that on January 02 a police patrol team spotted Barimah on a school park at community one with a black polythene bag and some wrappers.
He said they arrested him and found Indian hemp and the firearm. Also, the Tema Circuit Court 'A' has remanded an 18-year-old student, Kwabena Asamoah, until February 21 for possessing 20 wrappers of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Duuti Tharaka said the Police Buffalo Unit spotted the accused around on January 15 with a polythene bag.
When the team enquired from Asamoah the content he took to his heels but was arrested.
