Winneba Police commend a Good Samaritan in Tema

Mr Nicholas Gasu, the Assistant Superintendent of Police In charge of the District, made the commendation at Senya Beraku on Thursday. Mr Gasu said on April 28 three men chartered a taxi cab with registration number GT 1012 V driven by Mr Otute Sargborgor at the main lorry station in Winneba to Senya Beraku.

When they got to Kweikrom one of the men said he would attend to nature's call but when the driver stopped, one of them pulled a gun and ordered him to surrender the keys.

The robbers pulled Mr. Sargborgor out of the vehicle, collected his mobile phone and the day's sales and drove away.

Mr Gasu said on May 3 the Good Samaritan, whose is withheld for security reasons, rang the police at Winneba and informed them of a suspected abandoned vehicle at Sakumono Estates at Tema that has Winneba address on it.

The police and the driver went to the spot and found the vehicle. Mr Gasu appealed to the public to emulate the example of the Good Samaritan and cooperate with the police.
