Praprabebida (B/A), Dec 10, GNA - A 64-year-old women, Madam Rose Akosua Mintah from Praprabebida, near Wamfie, was last Monday found dead along the path she used daily to spend the night with her husband in a nearby village.
A witness who pleaded anonymity told Ghana News Agency that Rose left Praprabebida around 2000 hours for her husband's village, Moshikrom, but her body was found the next morning lying in a pool of blood.
According to the witness an initial examination of the corpse revealed that she was shot at close range in the abdomen as there were bullet wounds.
He said the community believed that the flashing of the deceased's torchlight in the night might have attracted a hunter who mistook it to be the eyes of an animal and shot her. Chief Superintendent Charles Brew Jnr, the Dormaa Police Commander who confirmed the story, told the GNA the police are investigating.
