59th Ghana Independence Anniversary Celebration in Toronto under the Theme: “Uniting the Community in One Accord for Development”

Ghanaians living in the Greater Toronto Area of Canada are gearing up for an extraordinary celebration of Ghana’s 59th Independence Anniversary with a week-long festivity (March 6-13, 2016) under the theme: ‘Uniting the Community in One Accord for Development.’ The celebrations are under the auspices of the Ghanaian Canadian Association of Ontario (GCAO) and include the following:
1. On March 6th : Sing and Pray for Ghana concert will be taking place at the Presbyterian Church from 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm. This event will feature gospel choir groups from churches and; brigade event by the ‘Fa Nyame’ Adventist Youth of the Toronto Ghanaian S.D.A. Church and the Brigade Band of the Toronto Ghana Methodist Church.
2. On March 7th : a flag raising ceremony will be taking place at Toronto City Hall to commemorate the Independence Celebration with Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Chiefs, Organization leaders, the Press in attendance. Let us project the Ghanaian Community in a good light. We are a strong community and we are growing and contributing immensely to this country (Canada) and Ghana as well. 3. On March 11th : Toronto Raptors Developmental league is promoting basketful event at Mississauga to commemorate Ghana Independence. It will be a great evening for our youth to participate in this event. The event starts at 7:00 pm at Mississauga, bring your nephews, daughters, sons, cousins, neighbours etc. This is a good family event. Location is Hershey Center, Mississauga
4. On March 13th: Dinner/Dance at Royal Plaza Hotel –1677 Wilson Avenue in Toronto. Ticket is $30.00 and the good news is that, there will be raffle draw to win a round trip air ticket to Ghana via Belgium Airline (Lufthansa). For Dinner Tickets please reach out to the following:
