AYC congratulates Swedish MP

Accra, March 12, GNA - The African Youth Command (AYC), has sent a message of congratulation to Mr Joe Frans, a Ghanaian, for his election as a member of the Swedish Parliament.

"The Governing council of the African Youth Command is very proud of your recent election as a member of the august Swedish Parliament in Stockholm, Sweden."

This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by Alhaji Yakubu Salley, General Secretary.

The statement noted that Mr Frans' elevation was not a victory to himself and his family alone, "but also to Ghana in particular, and Africa in general. Indeed it is a victory for all the black people in the Diaspora."

The statement recalled that Mr Frans' election followed the heels of similar spectacular feat earlier achieved by the incumbent Secretary to the British Treasury Mr Paul Boateng, a domiciled British-Ghanaian elected Member of the British Parliament elected on the ticket of the Labour Party more than a decade ago.

In a related development, the statement praised His Excellency, Mr Amarkai Amarteifio, the Swedish Consular-General and the Dean of the Consular-General Corps in Ghana, for his re-election as a member of the International Commission of Consulate-Generals World Wide.
