Adansi Akrofuom Citizen Donates Computers To School

Baffour Ennin, a native son of Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region, has donated Dell Business Computers to the Akrofuom Secondary Technical School. The items included 4 Dell Dimension 5150 Computers, 4 Dell Flat Panel E196FPB (19 inch) Monitors and 4 Dell Printers. The presentation took place at his residence in the Washington DC suburb of Northern Virginia. Baffour Ennin works for the phone giant, Verizon in the Washington DC area. Baffour Ennin is also a frequent contributor as a columnist on Ghanaweb.

Mr. Kwame Appiah, a Businessman who maintains residence in both Ghana and the US received the computers on behalf of the school. Mr. Kwame Appiah will pay for the cost of shipping the computers to Ghana. Mr. Appiah who thanked Baffour Ennin for his generous gift, appealed to all Akrofoum citizens in the Diaspora to contribute towards the development of the town. He said it was noteworthy that Baffour Ennin who was born in Obuasi and never stayed in Akrofoum still has attachment to the town. The town is the final resting place of his late mother, Enomary.

The school also needs the following:

1. Photocopier

2. Scanner

3. Track suits and set of Jerseys/Uniforms for Sporting activities

4. School Bus, the school has only one old Izuzu Pickup truck given to the school in 1992.
