Adu Poku Wins Another Prestigeous Award In America

Samuel Adu Poku, a former student of the College of Art at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana who came to Canada to do his Ph. D. and is now lecturing in USA has won another prestigeous award in the academia in North America.

He finished his PhD with at the University of British Columbia in Canada about one and half years ago and has taken a position at Youngstown State University in Ohio. Dr Samuel Adu Poku has just won the AERA Arts and Learning SIG 2004 Dissertation Award! He will receive his award at the AERA San Diego conference this year. The Awards ceremony will come off on Wednesday, 4/14/2004 from 6:15 p.m. - 7:45 p.m. at the Marriott - Solana, South Tower, First Level.

Dr Adu Poku also won the CSSE/CACS-ARTS Dissertation award last year so this is a remarkable achievement for a member of our community to win two comparable dissertation awards in Canada and the United States. Needless to say, we are proud of him. CONGRATULATIONS!! You are an inspiration for all of us!
