On March 18,2007, His Excellency Dr. Kwame Bawuah-Edusei, in a historic gesture, joined the people of Worcester, Massachusetts in the United States to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ghana’s Independence.
It was the first time a Ghanaian Ambassador has visited that Western Massachusetts city, which is home to many Africans in the U .S.A, and proudly boasts of at least 15,000 residents from Ghana alone.
Dr. Bawuah-Adusei spoke to the crowd about organizing themselves in support of democracy and economic prosperity in their homeland Ghana. He promised to make himself available to all Ghanaians in the US who may need his help.
In his address welcoming the Ambassador to the city, Mr. Tony Adade, Chairman of NPP Worcester, and head of the Organizing Committee said the presence of the Ambassador in their city is a signal for positive change.
He challenged the audience to accept the Ambassador’s challenge, and work for positive change for all.
