Boy, 17, stabs mum to death

Fear Gripped the Ghanaian community in Dusseldorf, Germany, when Sidney Gyamfi Brown, a seventeen-year-old boy killed his forty-year-old mother, Akosua Gyasiwaah Brempong, a week ago using a kitchen knife over petty family squabbles.

According to a family member who spoke to the Daily Heritage from Germany, there was a misunderstanding between the juvenile and his mother for almost four months until the tragic murder.

“Though the matter was resolved days ago, little did we expect the teenager will react that way,” he added.

According to the Dusseldorf Police, the boy threatened to kill the mother sometime ago and was banned from his mother’s residence for ten days.

Though it is still unclear why the teenager acted like that, neighbours who live in the same apartment claim that the boy and the mother were at logger heads contrary to the speculation that they had resolved their matter.

Dusseldorf Police said on March 9, this year, the boy pulled a sharp object on the mother in a similar incident with the mother suffering injuries which led to his ban.

When police entered the apartment of the deceased, they found blood stains on the staircase and blood stains on door bells of neighbours which indicated that the woman needed help from the neighbours to save her life.

The suspect fled and was arrested and sent to the court for prosecution while the other siblings aged five, nine and fourteen are under the care of the government.
