Thursday 18/10/2007 was world chocolate day. When you say chocolate, you say cocoa. When you say cocoa, you say Ghana. The Mayor of Paris Bertrand Delanoe designated 5 days for his city to celebrate and demonstrate the good things that chocolate and cocoa have done for nature and mankind. The Ghanaian community In France was invited to defend the honour of our country on this major subject and product of ours. President Kuffour and the people of Ghana can rest assured. APAE and GHACIF did what was expected of Ghana. They took care of the Ghana stand whenever it was necessary.
Mrs. Mary Amoako APAE President and a GHACIF executive (pictured below) was the leader of the chocolate action. Several Ghanaians displayed cultural dances like adowa and solookou before thousands of French people from all walks of life. The GHACIF President (2nd from right) was at the exhibition centre Porte de Versailles to welcome and applaud the exhibitors from Ghana. Mrs. Kontor Mensah a Ghanaian writer from Melun in the eastern Paris region gave us the appreciation message. JOE, ISAAC etc. all of APAE an affiliation of GHACIF did a wonderful job for Ghana. You will see them on video and in pictures. Bravo to all our compatriots who took part in the works of the celebration.
