A five (5) member delegation of the Constitutional Review Commission of Ghana will be in New York, on Sunday, March 27th, 2011. The purpose of the visit is to enable the members of the Commission to meet with the Ghanaian Community as an integral part of its consultative process aimed at eliciting views to assist in enriching the formulation of the Constitution.
The delegation had already visited other European Countries and it is now the turn of New York. The mandate of the Constitution Review Commission is to:
1. Ascertain from the Ghanaian Diaspora
their views on the operations of the 1992 Fourth Republic
Constitution.
2. Articulate the concerns of the people of Ghana as regards
to the amendments that may be required for a comprehensive
review of the 1992 Constitution; and
3. Make recommendations to the Government for consideration
and provide a draft Bill for possible amendments to the 1992
Constitution.
