Edusei Foundation Partners with Chevron

.... to sponsor Major Youth Forum in Washington DC

On Monday November 17th, the Edusei Foundation in collaboration with Chevron proudly sponsored a youth forum organized by The Africa Society of the National Summit on Africa and the World Affairs Council – Washington, DC. Under the theme "Africa: A Continent for the 21st Century".

About 600 students attended this forum which was held at the Ronald Reagan building two blocks away from the White House.

This youth forum featured plenary sessions along with workshops on trade and investment, development, peace and conflict, and Technology The forum also included a resource fair for student exchange opportunities In Africa. In addition to learning about foreign policy as it pertains to Africa and the media, the students drawn from the Washington metropolitan area also learned about and discussed the issues of Energy, Peace and Security, Trade and Investment, Energy, Food Security and Agriculture, Health and Technology. The Workshops were convened for teachers and students by policymakers and leading experts in their respective fields.

The students broke into several groups and came out with ideas and opportunities that can be explored in Africa in terms of technological advancement, business, trade and investment and conflict resolution. The Technology committee gave presentations on ideas to enhance better healthcare delivery, tapping into solar energy and broadening scientific education in the school curricular.

The Edusei Foundation which has the development of the Youth as its focus was formed by Dr. Kwame Bawuah-Edusei , a US based medical doctor, former diplomat and philanthropist and his family. They have sponsored several youth workshop in various states in the United States including, Connecticut, Washington DC , and New York. They have also organized youth workshops in Canada , United Kingdom and recently in Kumasi, Ghana.
