Mr. Seth Ashitey, the soft spoken, talented and a Community "Cultural Icon" who led Ghana's famed Wuleme Cultural and Dancing Troupe which tantalized and mesmerized Ghanaians from all Walks of Life, with their "Arithmatic Dancing" and "State of the Art" Cultural Exhibitions that soothed and brought "Cultural Healing" to the Nation in the late 1970s is dead, according to his wife, Ms. Augustina Jackson, a resident of Los Angeles who broke the news to Ghanaians Living abroad.

The late Nana Ashitey, as he was affectionately called by the Ghanaian Community in Los Angeles where he once lived with his wife, was born on March 11, 1933 and died on June 11, 2007 in Ghana, apparently from injuries he sustained in a car accident.

The Wuleme Cultural Troupe was based in the Nation's Capital, Accra and perfomed around the Country and overseas in their hey days when some of today's Politicians in Ghana were Children wearing "Charlie Wate Sandals", and those who were grown enough to be in their Teenage years, grew "Afro Hair" and wore "Platform Shoes".

According to Ms. Augustina, wife of the deceased, the Ghanaian Community in Los Angeles; other African Communities and "American Friends of Ghana" will celebrate the life of the former Wuleme leader during funeral rites at Dorsey High School (Cafeteria), located at 3537 Farmdale Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90016, (Corner of Farmdale and Rodeo Road; -between La Brea Blvd and Crenshaw Blvd), on Saturday, August 18, 2007, from 6:00PM until 12:00 Midnight.

Former Ghanaian-American Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate, "Osagyefo" Kwame Appiah Boateng (Kwame Mayor), who has announced plans to take off from his busy Political Campaigns to attend the funeral for the late Wuleme's leader, expressed optimism that the unity that the late Mr. Ashitey fostered among Ghanaian Community in Los Angeles will not be in vain.

"Mr. Seth Ashtey was a symbol of the type of Unity peace - loving Ghanaians aspire for".

"During his life on Earth, he cut across ethnic, tribal and racial lines. He saw himself as Ghanaian, African and a Citizen of the World [first] before his Ethnic or Tribal group", said "Osagyefo" Kwame Mayor, the Politician, in a Special Tribute.

"He was always there at events organized by the various ethnic groups in Ghana to promote Ghana's Cultural heritage. The significant role he played for the Asante Cultural Association in Los Angeles in promoting African Culture to Americans bore testimony to his amazing love for [all] Ghanaians - as "One People with a Common Destiny !!!", said the "Mayor" in a Special Tribute to the un-sung Wuleme hero, whose Cultural Troupe's electrifying performances will live in the "Memories of Eternity" !!!.
