FONAA Institute-USA: Nana Akufo-Addo is a visionary leader

Leadership represents the capability of a person to offer effective direction to a group of people and steer them to an enviable level of development. Effective leaders are visionaries who are equipped with high sense of urgency and creative thinking in the sense that they create positive path for others to follow. They are exemplary and their positive virtues are well depicted in restoring hope in the people.

Ghana’s current economic predicament, failed economic policies, the record high cost of living and the deteriorated state of most of our social infrastructures stem from the wrong choices made by President John Mahama at the onset of his presidency and the unfortunate pattern continues till now.

Fellow Ghanaians, it is very clear that the John Mahama administration lacks the sense of urgency and the moral courage to confront the diverse problems that are facing our country. The sad aspect of the entire conundrum is the president’s inability to learn from his mistakes. It is very evident that Ghanaians are not ready for further experimentation and are ready to kick out the Mahama’s administration through the exercise of their franchise.

Ghana has been compounded with unprecedented economic problems that the President seems to have no clue as to the best way of handling them. The most disturbing irony of all is that the seat of government has now become the hub of all failed government officials who unceremoniously see the seat of government as a safe haven.

During the era when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was in power, Ghana’s credit rating was at B+. This came with enormous positive economic benefits. Ghana was able to come out of the entanglement of the IMF. Today Ghana is under the grips of the IMF again under the watch of President Mahama. Corruption has been on the ascendancy under the leadership of President John Mahama. Perfect examples are the GYEEDA saga, SADA saga, NHIS saga, CHRAG saga and the list goes on and on. “Things really fall apart and the center cannot hold”

FONAA Institute-USA would like to make it categorically clear that the campaign for election 2016 would be based on substance and not on rhetoric and propaganda as the Mahama administration is known for exhibiting. Ghanaians are tired of the team B attitude and the rhetoric that have plunged Ghana’s economy into chaos. It is on record that President John Mahama performed woefully as the chairman of the economic management team of Ghana by virtue of being the Vice President of Ghana. In fact, in his current position as the President, Ghana has seen the worst economic posture .This is due to wrong choices made by the President.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP are ready to bring Ghana back to that strong economic pedestal that will positively impact on the pockets of the ordinary Ghanaian. This will be another golden age of business whereby all the necessary economic and social infrastructures would be fostered in place to ensure the growth of the private sector and bridge the gap between the rich and the poor.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has proven beyond all doubts that he is incorruptible and that he is ready to weed out corruption when given the mandate to lead the good people of Ghana as the next President. Ghana currently needs a visionary leader who has the moral courage and the boldness to confront corruption and eradicate it from the system regardless of its shape and origin. Ghana needs a leader who can change the fundamentals of the economy and position it on a genuine path to prosperity. The New Patriotic Party of Ghana (NPP) has done it before and it is ready to do it again under the able leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the next President of Ghana. Nana Akuffo Addo throughout his life has fought fiercely for the tenets of democracy in Ghana by representing the voice of the masses against brutal military regimes in a period referred to as the dark days in Ghana’s political history at the perils of his life. Even in the face of military suppression, the voice of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo could still be heard on BBC and a hot political talk show called “Talking Points”. Nana Akufo Addo’s passion for protecting the poor in Ghana led him to using his legal prowess in representing many Ghanaians in court free of Charge. Nana Akufo-Addo’s quest for Ghana’s return to democracy motivated him to lead a famous demonstration dabbed “kumi preko?, the demonstration of the Alliance for Change (AFC) in 1997 to express the displeasure of Ghanaians regarding the extreme socio-economic hardships that were meted out to Ghanaians by the PNDC/NDC regime. Nana Akufo Addo is known in political circles as one of the key figures that positively spearheaded Ghana’s return to democracy.

Nana Akufo-Addo’s Vision has always been to ensure the rapid and total transformation of Ghana’s economy that will translate into the pockets of the ordinary Ghanaian. Fostering in place modern and affordable healthcare systems, modern agriculture, better educational system, industrialization, the modernization of the entire country and its extension to the rest of Africa, has been his message.

Conclusion

Election 2016 campaign is going to be based on issues and not propaganda and rhetoric that have always been employed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) without compunction. It is about the track record of both the NPP and the NDC. It is about the party that has demonstrated to Ghanaians before that it is able to lead Ghana to economic prosperity. The future is bright for Ghana with Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the next President of Ghana.
