A voluntary campaign group has been formed in Germany to rally support for the re-election of Nana Addo-Dankwa Akuffo-Addo as the Flag bearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The organisation which goes by the acronym FONAAG (Friends of Nana Akuffo-Addo in Germany) has the sole purpose of mobilising logistics and other support to ensure that Nana Akuffo- Addo wins the Flag bear contest and eventual become the President of the Republic of Ghana.
Addressing a well-attended meeting of FONAAG in Dusseldorf over the weekend, Mr Adam Inusah, National Co-ordinator of the group explained that membership of FONAAG is drawn from people of diverse backgrounds within the Ghanaian community. They included Ordinary Ghanaians, Businessmen and Women, Ghanaian Professionals and Students.
According to Mr Inusah, FONAAG has decided to throw its weight and support behind Nana Akuffo-Addo because it believes that Nana Addo has over the years demonstrated examplorary and outstanding leadership qualities that Ghana needs and deserves at this critical time in our history.
Mr Inusah noted that Nana Addo’s selfless dedication to public service for over four decades, his personal achievements as successful businessman and an outstanding Lawyer are attributes that have inspired a generation of Ghanaians.
He announced that a committee has been set up to plan for the official launching and fund raising event which will take place in Düsseldorf in July this year. He added that Regional co-ordinators wills soon be appointed in all the Sixteen States that make up the Federal Republic of Germany to ensure organisational efficiency and effectiveness.
