GaDangmes Association in Italy (Emilia Romagna Branch) will launch an Educational Fund programme to help underpriviledged children in the Greater Accra Region.
The big day event on Saturday, July 21, at Circolo Di San Agostino – Via Milano – in Sassuolo, Modena, will attract a massive attendance and appearing are other local GaDangme Associations from the cities Vicenza, Treviso and Brescia. It’s an event that see a host dignitaries and special guests coming from outside Italy, among them are: Nii Adjei Kraku II (Tema Mantse – Chief of Tema in the Greater Accra Region, Ghana), Naa Tsotsoo Soo Yoo I (Queenmother – Amamoale- Amasama Manye - from the UK), Naa Manye Aforkor (Queenmother - Omaeduro II, Katamanso Ta Yaa Manye , from UK), Dr. Benjamin Dodoo (from the U.S), Atwei Lokko (a.k.a Atwei Siklite – from the UK), Naa Kai Ashong – from Tema New Town, Ghana), Titus Evans (a.k.a Bishop T – host of the popular GDangme programme, ‘Bo Oba’, on Hotdigital Radio in London).
Speaking in a short interview about the programme, Christopher Nii Sowah Klu (Secretary of the Association) said a number of other Italian personalities from the local City Council of Sassuolo have been invited and they include: Claudio Corrado, Dr. Alfio Sapienza, Dr. Cristina Muzzioli and Mr. Cuoghi. He pointed out that a fantastic display of the culture GaDangmes will be displayed at the event. “The purpose of this function is to help underpriviledged children in our communities in Ghana in offering them a better education to become better future leaders. They include street children, children who are abused, children in child labour (children being used in fishing, farming, hawking) orphans, etc.” He mentioned that the Association has focused its attention on securing international complex that will cater for these children and will present its project proposal to Ghana’s Parliament and other Institutions in Ghana for assistance.
GaDangme Association in Emilia Romagna Region, Italy was formed in 2008 with purpose to promote love and unity among all GaDangme natives in Italy and in the diaspora, to give humanitarian and social assistance to GaDangme people in Ghana, to promote development in the Greater Accra Region in Ghana, promote socio-cultural activities among GaDangme natives in Italy and Italians and assist the youths of GaDangme natives in Italy to know more about their language as well their culture. He assured all contributors to the fund their contributions will be put to good use for the betterment of the Greater Accra Region in Ghana. -
