The Gadangme Europe (GDEU) Electoral Commission has successfully held elections to appoint a new executive to steer the affairs of the GDEU. The three-man commission was made up of Naa Tsotsoo Soyoo I, Pastor Chester Niiboye Quartey and Mrs Rosina Naa Kometsoo Okpoti.
The elections were held prior to the GaDangme Italy Homowo Festival in the City of Breganze–Vicenza, Italy on the 21st June, 2014 and the new executive was inaugurated on Thursday 3rd July 2014.
The elected members and their positions are listed as follows:

· Mr. Daniel A. Doe (GaDangme Barcelona), GDEU VICE SECRETARY
· Ms. Rebecca Quaye (GaDangme Barcelona), GDEU FINANCIAL SECRETARY
· Ms. Rebecca Crenstil (GaDangme Berlin), GDEU TREASURER
· Nii Yartey (Bishop T Ga Club, UK) PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER
· Nii Sowah Klu (GaDangme Italy) ASSISTANT PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER/ORGANISER
The elections were followed in the evening by a brilliant display of culture as the GaDangme Italy celebrated their third Annual Homowo Festival. In his keynote address, The Osu Mantse, Nii Akwei Kinka Dowuona, impressed on the elected to use their positions as an opportunity to facilitate the welfare of GaDangme, doing away with the need for unnecessary competition, He also called on GaDangme everywhere to be proud of their heritage and display this by upholding their language and culture no matter where they reside in the world. He was supported in his traditional role by Naa Akushika Omandro, Sempe Manye, Naa Tsotsoo Soyoo I, Amamole Djaase Manye, and Nuumo Gbelenfo, Osu Guaa Wulomo as well as other prominent traditional leaders.
Among the notable personalities present were, His Excellency Mr Hussein Mohammed, Welfare Minister at Ghana Embassy, Italy; Hon. Samuel Atukwei Quaye, MCE-Amasaman; Hon. Laryea Emmanuel Nii Okai, MP-Amasaman, and Superintendent Naa Ashorkor Quaye, Head of Anti Human Trafficking Unit of Ghana Police.
The newly elected GDEU Executive were tasked to establish key and focused development initiatives that will form the core of their work now and into the future.
The GDEU Electoral Commission wishes to make it known that these elected members are the mandated representatives of the GDEU until further notice and, therefore, no other person or persons shall hold themselves as representatives in any other capacity.
