Jubilee Gospel Jubilation
Arguably, Ghanaians in Italy have so far celebrated Ghana’s 50 years of Independence more than any other community of Ghanaians abroad. From city to city, from one Association to the other, from one church to another the anniversary flame is still burning since it was lighted in January this year.
The ‘moving train’ which carries this glamorous events along after several trips across Italy stops over again in Rome, this time in a joint praises and worship service with gospel music under the banner, ‘Jubilee Gospel Jubilation’ in commemoration of the anniversary.
Pastor Robert Hughes of Church of All Nations in Rome under whose initiative the event is being held in collaboration with the Ghana Embassy in Rome is for the second time hosting this big occasion on Sunday 21st October at St. Maria Addolorata Church, situated at Vialle Serenissima Nr. 37, in the old auditorium starting at 3p.m
Featuring on the program are gospel artistes Becky Cournooh, Robert Psalmpong and Anita Obeng. The Church of All Nations Choir would also be ministering in a joint Praises and Worship Team.
Special guests of honour would include Ghana’s Ambassador to Italy, His Excellency Charles Agyei-Amoama and his wife who would be cutting a special cake for the occasion plus other members of the Diplomatic Corps and there would be side attraction of a CD/Christian literature stand, awards and photo exhibition as well as refreshments.
The event would also be used to raise funds for the Ghana Welfare Fund which has been initiated by the Ghana Embassy in Rome. A large turn out is expected and that will include Church of Pentecost, Pilgrim International Church and other local churches.
According to Pastor Hughes the program also offers the invited artistes the opportunity to minister to the ‘Romans’ with their songs. “It is hoped a good foundation would be laid for the churches in Rome to come together in the future for such Christian activities,” he said.
