Ghana@51 concert in NY Sets platform for musicians to explore opportunities

Tic TacReggie Rockstone, TIC TAC, VIP, Buk Bak and U.K. artist Mensah are the headlining acts to perform at the Ghana @ 51 Independence Music Celebration.

With the new release of “Home Grown”, a documentary that chronicles Hip Life Music, a new momentum and appreciation of Hip Life music is now sweeping the globe. Local musicians such as Reggie Rockstone, TIC TAC, VIP, and Buk Bak will be performing at the Ghana @ 51 Hip Life Music Concert in New York City on March 29, 2008 at Gauchos Gym in Bronx, NY.

New York City and surrounding areas are anxiously awaiting the performance of the Godfather of Hip-Life Music: Reggie Rockstone. Reggie Rockstone was scheduled to perform at the Ghana @ 50 concerts last year but was prevented from traveling due to passport issues that have since been resolved. Reggie Rockstone will be making press conference appearances beginning Wednesday, March 26, 2008 with the assistance of the Ghana Embassy to assure his fans in the New York Tri-State area of his upcoming performance.

Also performing at the Ghana @51 Independence Concert is former MTV Base artist of the year; TIC TAC. He was recently seen hanging out with Akon at the Konvict Record Label Office, downtown Atlanta, GA. When asked to confirm the collaborating artists working on the new album, TIC TAC responded, “Well if I tell you who’s working on the new project, it wouldn’t be a surprise…so for now, let’s wait and see”.

When Ghanaian sensation, Buk Bak performs on March 29th in New York City, fans won’t only be treated by the group’s classics; they’ll hear new songs off of the group’s upcoming album. Buk Bak is currently in the studios working on the yet –to- be- titled follow up to their last album, “Ganja Barraks”.

VIP has courted American fans over the last few years with their annual performance at the Ghana Picnic in New York City. With the release of the film, “Home Grown”, VIP promises to set unprecedented numbers of attendance for America’s first Hip-Life tour. The BDN Hip Life Tour will feature several other Hip Life Musicians now based in Ghana. Hosted by Flip Man and Papa Linc, The Ghana @51 Music Celebration will be held on March 29, 2008 at Gauchos Gym in Bronx New York.

Other Ghanaian music sensations include: Mensah, B.Clay, Rascalimu, Adikanfo Mmrantie, Nana, Manifest, Squadee and others….DJ’s for the event include DJ Sam Q, Ronny, Ronny Ron, E Love, DJ Kojak and DJ Ice from UK.

In addition to the Ghana @51 Independence Concert, a Model Call will be held earlier that evening at 6:00pm at Gauchos Gym-Bronx, New York for the New York Tri-State Area.
