Ghana Association in Torino elects new Executives

Padmore Opoku has been elected the new President of Ghana Nationals Association in the city Torino, north of Italy.

Speaking at a meeting of the reconstituted Asociation he called on all Ghanaians in the community for their support and maximum cooperation to the new Board. “Our Association needs to be invigorated to fast track its goals,” he stated, emphasising on love and unity explaining that it’s the only way for the Association to achieve its objectives.

He mentioned in his address that there is going to be a cordial relation between the old and the new executives saying the new Board is going to continue from where they left off. “The future looks bright and we are going to outline comprehensive programs for the Association,” he pointed out.

The President also indicated there will be introduction of new membership identity cards, aquisition of a new meeting place and amendment of the Constitution.

Other members of the Executive Committee are: Abdul Iddi Raman (Vice President), Freeman William Azeka (Secretary), Daniel Kwadjo Arko (Vice Secretary), Patrick Amssou as Treasurer, Rebecca Ansah as Assistant Treasurer. The rest are: Helen Abdul (Organiser), Alfred Kobby (Assistant Organiser) with John Owusu and John Owusu as Usshers.

The Ghanaian community in Torino is over 500 and the city has been chosen by the Council of Ghanaian Nationals Association in Italy (COGNAI) to host a National Conference of Ghanaians in Italy on June 21 this year.
