The Ghana Embassy in Berlin, Germany will be hosting the German-Ghana investment Forum 2011 scheduled to be held at Atlantic Hotel in Hamburg city of Germany, from 14th-15th of April 2011. This programme is however in line with a call by President Mills’ declaration of 2011 as an action year to create jobs, building more classroom blocks as well as the provision of affordable houses for the masses.
The Forum which is being organised by the Developing Markets Agency (DMA) and Africa Matters Limited will be under the theme "Enhancing Economic Growth through Competiveness, Diversification and Infrastructure Development."
Reliable information from the Ghana Embassy in Berlin reaching the office of NDC-Hamburg indicates that, approval has been given by the seat of the Government in Accra and that, all necessary arrangements are almost completed.
The Ghanaian Ambassador in Berlin, H.E.Paul King Aryene and his organising team suggest that, some of the expectations in organizing the forum are to renew and re-establish meaningful socio-economic ties between Ghana Government and Federal Republic of Germany; and also to welcome prospective entrepreneurs in and outside Germany; the green opportunities springing up in Ghana as a result of the discovery of oil and Gas in commercial quantities.
The Vice President, H.E. John Mahama is expected to be the special Guest of honour to grace the occasion. Some other high ranking personalities to accompany the Vice President, according to official draft programme of the forum include, Dr. Kwabena Duffour (Minister for Finance and Economic Planning), Kwesi Bekoe Amissah (Governor, Bank of Ghana), George Aboagye (CEO, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre), Hon. Joe Kwashie Gidisu (Minister for Roads and Highways), Hon. Joe Oteng-Adjei (Minister for Energy), Nestor P. Galley (Director General, Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority).
Others are, Ato Ahwoi (Board Chairman-Ghana Petroleum Corporation),Hon. Aku Sena Dansua (Minister for Tourism), Hon. Hanna Tetteh (Minister for Trade and Industry)and Julius Debrah (Executive Director-Ghana Tourist Board).
The Executives of the NDC-Hamburg, who are also co-hosting the programme, have sent an official letter to the Ghanaian Ambassador in Berlin, H.E. Paul King Aryene requesting him to use his influence to effect the meeting of the visiting Ghanaian delegates in a further discussion with the Ghanaian community in Germany after the official forum. This will enable the Ghanaians to have the opportunity to freely discuss with the delegates on matters related to the socio-economic development of the country. Ghana.
