Ghana National Party - UK Inaugural Meeting

Fellow Ghanaians living Abroad (GLA),

It gives me great pleasure to announce and circulate this to you all in UK and to let some of you know that what you thought was impossible last year is now possible. Ghana National Party will have her first inaugural meeting in UK on the 13th October 2007, according to an announcement show below.

A year ago some members of our communities said it was impossible to form a new political party in Ghana and change what many overseas and in Ghana find as deplorable and intolerable conditions in Ghana. A land of brilliant people scattered around the world where ordinary water is being rationed and water treatment has not seen any improvement since 1965, electricity and energy needs are not planned, government still builds stinky open gutters in nice residential neighborhoods, was too hard for some of us to bear. The old political parties have shown no vision and no ability to implement change, and disappointed us all! Some of us decided in July 1, 2006 not to give it to God. With our own personal contributions of money, we organized people in Ghana in the cities and rural areas and by February 2007 we had traversed the length and breath of Ghana to have signatures and were able to file all the documents, have them verified and register the party at the Electoral commission in February 2007.

As I have said many times in our GLU forums, Ghana belongs to all of us. Nobody in Ghana can bully any of us around and if they try they will drop down on their knees! Guaranteed!

Let us decide now to participate or forever hold our peace, as I have said elsewhere – because honestly, Ghana is not going anywhere fast without the active involvement of Ghanaians Living Abroad (GLA). Some of us have noted that this is a Missionary Journey to salvage our nation from greed, selfishness and corruption, and there is nothing in it for us but possibly our children and grandchildren who may want to return to Ghana. Those who return when they retire may not find a safe and healthy lifestyle if nothing changes. Others may see this as investment in a land of their birth with a birthright. The only pride some of us may find is that as human beings, we demonstrate to the world that we have used our intelligence and education to help shape the destiny of our nation, change our culture of leadership and set Ghana on track again. Please respond to the invitation as shown.
