The New Patriotic Party ,UK and Ireland Branch will like to respond to comments President Atta Mills made to the Zongo communities in Kumasi and his own party members. We are today telling President Mills that the People of Ghana, who he may take for granted, will continue to complain about his incompetent and arrogant government and we will join hands with them in doing so until he acts and fufill his campaign promises.
We are asking Professor Mills the following questions and we hope he himself will be bold and come out and not hide behind his masters Messrs Ato and Kwamena Ahwoi or his Team B Ministers ( Mr Spio Gabrahs words not ours please) and answer these questions.
1.Why are Prices of goods and services in Ghana fluctuating every week?
2. Why are 50,000 residents of Sodom and Gomorrah being relocated to Amasaman, where there are no structures and no sanitary provisions thus in the long run creating another slum ?
3. Why are our graduates and students sitting at home without jobs and without any hope for the future?
4. Why are our banks empty for most of the day and not supporting our traders and business community with finance to create jobs?
5. What is your long term vision for Ghana? what are your policies? Give us an example of a single policy you have initiated since you came to office.
6 Where is the wisdom in sending Baba Kamara,a man whose name was mentioned the Mabey and Johnson scandal as our ambassador to our key ally in West Africa, Nigeria? What message does it send to our youth and our neighbours? Why are Dr Ato Quarshie and Mr kwame Peperah at post enjoying Taxpayers money after being named in the Mabey and Johnson scandals?why are certain individuals in your regime using shortages of fuel in Ghana to make money? Why is there among Ghanaians this perception that you are setting up all these committees some of which are completely unnecessary and a complete waste of public funds as a backdoor way to reward party members who helped you to power? Are you not now actively encouraging corruption?
7. Is it not strange that the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation says it has funds to buy the jubilee oil field yet your government is struggling to raise finance for TOR? Can you tell us who is really in charge at Ghana National Petroleum Coporation and what they are really up to and how they will come by these funds?
8. You criticised Ex- President Kufuor that he did nothing about the Bawku crisis when he was in office. Well whats your record so far? guriella training camps, policemen and ministers dodging bullets and running helter skelter, individuals calling themselves Bush Rambo(we thought Rambo only existed in movies)laughing at the law. Where is the Peace council and where are the peace initiatives?
9. You are hoping that by 2012,Ghanaians will forget about your failure and when you and your party members come around to the people to share money ,sewing machines ,food and your other rigging mechanisms they will vote for you again. Do you think it will work?
10. We will like to know what your 10 man economic advisory commitee you set up and which includes your brother Dr Cadman Mills are up to. What sort of advice do you get? And how much taxpayers money is going into their pockets? Its very disappointing that this council cannot come out with a statement on solutions to the economic problems, make public any idea or suggestion , policy for public consumption and debate.
For us it is very intresting that when we were in office, Some of the very things that we initiated that were criticised by you and your party i.e., the National Youth Employment Programme, the National Health Insurance Scheme, the Ghana School Feeding Programme, the Metro Mass Transit Buses, Masloc Loans to support small scale businesses, The renovation of government buildings such as Peduase Lodge and The Jubilee House which you rebuked and said you will use for poultry farming if you were elected. Today you see it fit to use its offices to temporarily resettle workers.
As we keep reminding you and we will keep doing so until you listen, The people of Ghana are not interested in your lectures, propaganda, sound bites and sermons neither are they interested in the amount of olive oil or vegetable oil poured on you by pastors(whoever they may be). They want a clear action plan as to how you are going to lead this country and help solve their problems. Parents want to know if their jobs are secure, whether they can still afford skyrocketing cost of living under your government, whether they can afford to pay fees next year, whether they can afford the 10% property taxes coming next year, Whether they can afford another fuel price increase after you broke your promise to reduce it drastically. Our farmers want to know what you will do for them so that they will stop smuggling our cocoa to Togo and Ivory coast which is increasing at alarming proportions and Our youth are still waiting for the thousands of real lasting jobs you promised.
Mr President listen to the people and sit up, Ghana is going ABABA SEEEE!!!!!!!!
